UK beats Spain in terms of equality LGBT people in Europe

ILGA Europe has recently published the 'Rainbow Index, an index that ranks countries according to the legislation have to offer equal rights to all its citizens.

The report assesses the various European countries and given a certain number of points depending on the type of legislation.

The social situation of lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual not part of the evaluation criteria of the report.

UK, for the laws that account, held first place in the index, with 12.5 points followed by Spain and Sweden with 12 points.

Germany, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands and Portugal have 10 points, compared with 9 Denmark and Iceland and Hungary, 7.

Austria, Croatia and Finland get 6 points in the report, and Slovenia, France and Ireland, 5 points.

Andorra, Luxembourg and Switzerland continue the list with 4 points, 3 points against the Czech Republic, the 2 points from Albania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, the point of Bosnia-Herzegovina , Slovakia, Kosovo, Lithuania and Poland and the 0 points in Italy, Latvia and Malta.

The report also provides negative numbers to countries that have declined in the last period evaluated.

Thus, Georgia is situated with a minus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Monaco, Russia, San Marino, Turkey and the Vatican with two negative points, Belarus and Moldova three negative points, and finally Ukraine, with four negative points.
