More than 5,000 people gathered on Tuesday to a May 18 demonstration in favor of the LGBT community organized by the Brazilian Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (ABGLT).
organization organized the rally to celebrate the "II National March Against Homophobia."
The participants demanded the same rights as other citizens have, as the possibility of access to marriage.
also called for the establishment of laws that impose harsh measures against discrimination many Brazilians still suffering from grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The organization said more than 40 buses came from all over the country with the 5,000 protesters who got the start.
